AQUA NOBEL IN DAGENS INDUSTRI
Aqua Nobel’s work with emergency drinking water has been featured in Dagens Industri, where access to drinking water is highlighted as an increasingly important issue in a changing security environment. The article describes how robust solutions and actual access to emergency water are essential for strengthening societal preparedness.
NATO MEETING IN HELSINGBORG
In connection with the NATO meeting in Helsingborg, preparedness and supply resilience have received increased attention. Aqua Nobel participated in a business dialogue ahead of the meeting, where the importance of turning preparedness plans into practical solutions was highlighted, particularly with regard to access to drinking water.
The discussion focused on supply preparedness and how access to drinking water can be secured during societal disruptions.
Pure spring water of the highest quality
Aqua Nobel’s water is bottled directly from our spring in Mörarp, located 105 metres below ground. The water is naturally filtered through deep geological layers that contribute to its exceptional purity and quality. Thick rock formations protect the source from contaminants such as fertilisers, pesticides and PFAS, ensuring safe, high-quality drinking water.
The spring has a high production capacity, enabling large volumes of water to be bottled and delivered quickly and efficiently. Our advanced filling system ensures that the water is handled without contamination.

This solution offers flexibility and reliability in unexpected situations or times of emergency, with access to a dedicated share of our rotating stock or directly from production.
Direct Purchase
A flexible way to secure access to clean drinking water without a subscription commitment.
Water can be ordered directly from Aqua Nobel or through our selected partners.
Preparedness solutions for a secure drinking water supply
Before a permanent solution is established, there is a need for a temporary solution to ensure access to clean drinking water. This is where Aqua Nobel’s products and services come in.
Today, we offer two service models: “WaaS subscription” and “On Demand”.
Water can also be purchased directly via retailers such as 24HMeal and Martin & Servera, through framework agreements with ADDA, or in our own webshop.
WHAT DOES GOOD WATER PREPAREDNESS MEAN?
During a crisis, the regular drinking water supply may be interrupted. It is therefore important to have access to emergency drinking water that can meet demand until normal supply is restored.
Good water preparedness is not just about having plans in place. It is about ensuring actual access to safe drinking water when it is needed most. For municipalities, businesses and critical operations, access to water can be vital to maintaining operations during the first critical days of a disruption.
By strengthening water preparedness, the consequences of disruptions can be reduced while essential services continue to operate.
WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR DRINKING WATER PREPAREDNESS?
- Municipalities are responsible for planning and managing local drinking water supplies, including during disruptions and crisis situations.
- Private individuals are encouraged to maintain basic emergency preparedness, including sufficient drinking water for the first few days.
- The Swedish Food Agency (Livsmedelsverket) provides guidance and support on drinking water, emergency water planning and water supply issues.
- The Swedish Civil Defence Agency (MCF) supports and coordinates work related to civil preparedness and total defence.
HOW MUCH WATER IS NEEDED?
In the event of a crisis or water supply disruption, planning for at least three litres of drinking water per person per day is recommended. Requirements vary between organisations, but calculating water demand is an important part of a robust preparedness strategy.

SUSTAINABLE PACKAGING FOR RELIABLE EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS
At Aqua Nobel, we carefully select our packaging with both sustainability and preparedness in mind. Our packaging is designed to be durable and logistically efficient, making it ideal for both storage and transportation.
Our spring water is packaged in 500 ml Tetra Pak Prisma® cartons, which offer several advantages over PET bottles and aluminium cans. The packaging is recyclable, UV-resistant, heat-resistant and stackable. A freezer-compatible version is also available for specialised applications. AQUA NOBEL FEATURED ON THE TRYGGHETSPODDEN PODCAST
Aqua Nobel and former military officer Rickard Thörn joined Trygghetspodden to discuss preparedness, with a particular focus on water preparedness.
The conversation highlighted the importance of having a plan for access to safe drinking water during crisis situations and how individuals and organisations can prepare for future challenges.
NO DETECTABLE PFAS ACCORDING TO ANALYSIS REPORT
PFAS is a group of chemicals commonly used in industrial products because of their water- and stain-resistant properties. However, they are harmful to both the environment and human health.
PFAS contamination has been detected in drinking water in several locations across Sweden, including Ronneby, Uppsala and Halmstad, where historical industrial activities and firefighting training sites have affected groundwater quality.
According to a Eurofins analysis report dated 21 August 2024, values for PAH, PFAS and THM in Aqua Nobel’s spring water were below detection limits, indicating that the water is safe for consumption.
The depth of the spring and the surrounding geological formations help protect the groundwater from external contamination.
WATER WITH UP TO FIVE YEARS OF SHELF LIFE
Maintaining a strategic reserve of drinking water helps reduce risks, increase resilience during disruptions and secure a stable water supply when it is needed most.
Aqua Nobel provides drinking water with a shelf life of up to five years, packaged in environmentally friendly 500 ml Tetra Pak Prisma® cartons, specifically developed for long-term storage and emergency preparedness purposes.
SOME OF OUR CUSTOMERS ON STANDBY
Partners within preparedness readiness
In a crisis, the regular water system may be disrupted, or the water may temporarily become unfit to drink due to contamination. Emergency water is a temporary solution until the regular water supply is restored.
Emergency water is a type of water reserve that serves as drinking water when the regular water supply is either cut off or undrinkable, for example, due to contamination. Emergency water is available in ways other than through the tap, such as packaged water or in large water tanks. Emergency water is not a substitute for regular tap water; it is a complement.
Some crises where regular water supply can be disrupted include natural disasters, pandemics, cyber-attacks, leaks, and war. Additionally, drinking water may become contaminated, rendering tap water unfit for consumption.
In Sweden, municipalities are responsible for ensuring the drinking water supply to their citizens in the event of a crisis. If the regular water supply is disrupted, the municipality must provide access to drinking water through alternative means.
Aqua Nobel’s emergency water is not meant to replace tap water; it is a compliment. In times of crisis, when the regular water supply is disrupted due to a situation or contamination, there must be immediate access to water. Having an emergency water stockpile reduces vulnerability to potential disruptions.
An emergency water supply can be used immediately when the regular water supply is unusable, while VAKA is a reinforcement resource that is delivered after a crisis has occurred.
We offer two different solutions that can be tailored to specific needs:

WaaS Subscription is a complete solution for emergency water storage at the customer’s site at a fixed monthly cost. Aqua Nobel is responsible for replenishing the stock with fresh water when it approaches its best-before date, ensuring continuous access to clean drinking water.
We work with various logistics partners to ensure water can be delivered even during a crisis. We provide emergency water to you and utilise emergency stockpiling to replace your water quickly during a crisis.
We offer two subscription services:
Water as a Service, where the water is stored at the customer’s location.
Water on Demand, where the customer requests up to the agreed amount.
We offer these services across Sweden.
Water can also be ordered on our website.
Aqua Nobel’s water comes from our source in Mörarp. Unlike municipal water, which often comes from surface water, our water comes from a 105-metre-deep source. We conduct regular tests to ensure the quality and purity of the water.
Aqua Nobel’s water has a shelf life of 5 years compared to water in PET bottles or containers, which needs replacement every six months.
How deliveries are ensured depends on the crisis affecting the water supply. In most crises, we can deliver water as usual with the help of our logistics partners. In case of war, we will work with the Armed Forces and authorities to ensure water supply to municipalities.
