OUR WATER

In southern Sweden, beneath the rolling hills of an otherwise flat landscape, lies a hidden treasure. The geological composition of the region has sculpted variations in the terrain with gentle slopes and hills. Beneath these undulating contours, a unique, pure water flows through deep aquifiers, its composition shaped by thousands of years of interaction with the surrounding rock layers. This water, drawn from the depths of the earth, carries a blend of electrolytes that makes it truly one of a kind.

AWARD-WINNING

With its balanced mineral content and deep source, our water offers a highly appreciated taste. We are proud that our water, not once but twice, has won the prestigious international Berkeley Springs Water Tasting competition in West Virginia, USA – often referred to as the ‘Olympics of Water’ – where we were awarded the Gold Medal for the world’s best water.

ELECTROLYTES

Our spring water has been naturally mineralised through layers of sandstone, claystone, morain, shale, and gneiss. This unique filtration process has enriched the water with an exceptionally high content of bicarbonate as well as other essential minerals such as potassium, calcium, magnesium, and sodium.

What does "alkaline" mean?

Alkalinity is a measure of water’s ability to resist changes in pH. Alkaline water has a pH level above 7.

What makes your water alkaline?

It is likely due to the high concentration of bicarbonate naturally found in the spring water.

How do the electrolytes/minerals react to the high bicarbonate content?

Alkalinity aids in dissolving other minerals, such as calcium and magnesium, in the water. In this way, bicarbonate indirectly helps increase the concentration of these minerals.

WHY DO YOU HAVE ALKALINE WATER?

It is essential to clarify that the choice of the water’s pH level was not intentional but is a natural characteristic created by nature. Our water source naturally has a higher alkalinity, which we have neither influenced nor altered.

Alkaline water has garnered some interest in the health sector, and it’s essential to note that this interest is not something we have actively promoted. Instead, it is a result of the unique properties of our water, including its purity and the electrolytes it contains. These attributes contribute to a taste and nutritional content that can benefit and appeal to various sectors, including healthcare.

Our water is rigorously tested and analysed to ensure it meets all safety standards and quality requirements. Our priority is to provide a clean and healthy alternative to our customers, regardless of their specific preferences or needs.

Is drinking alkaline water healthy?

In many Western diets, it is common to consume acidic foods and beverages. This can include everything from processed foods and sugars to caffeinated drinks and dairy products. Given this dietary pattern, there has been an interest in “alkalising” the body, as some claim that a more alkaline diet can promote better health and well-being.

It is essential to understand that the body can regulate its pH levels through natural processes. One of the body’s critical systems to balance its pH is the production of bicarbonate, which acts as a buffer to neutralise excess acid.

Despite this, there is growing interest in including alkaline water in the diet, based on the idea that it may support the body’s natural pH regulation and help create a more alkaline internal environment. Alkaline water has a higher pH level than regular water, which may provide a perceived benefit for those looking to complement their diet and support their well-being.

Although the body can manage its pH balance, many people choose to include alkaline water as part of a holistic health strategy. It’s important to note that while interest in alkaline water is increasing, it remains a personal preference and part of a broader trend towards exploring different ways to support health and well-being.

We encourage everyone to be informed and consider scientific evidence when making decisions about their diet and health.

What does the research say about alkaline water?

Research on the health benefits of alkaline water is still in its early stages. Some small studies have shown promising results in reducing stomach acid and promoting hydration, but there are no extensive, long-term studies that fully support these claims. Science continually evolves, and we closely monitor new findings to keep our customers updated on the latest research.

THE KÅGERÖD FORMATION

The unique geological composition of the Kågeröd Formation includes a variety of minerals and rocks, giving the area its distinctive character. This contributes to a complex and intriguing geological environment that is of great interest to both scientists and geology enthusiasts.

This formation is renowned for its unique mineral content and diverse rock types, which add to its geological significance.

PURE BUT NOT PURIFIED

Our source is located deep underground, where the layers are both solid and diverse. The natural filtration through these geological strata gives our water exceptional purity, allowing us to sell it directly without needing chemical additives or additional purification processes.

Unlike tap water, which often requires extensive treatment and additives to ensure it is immaculate and has the correct pH levels, our water comes from a source that naturally offers a clean and balanced composition.

Our spring is a testament to how nature can provide water of the highest quality without needing extra processing, and we are pleased to offer this to our customers.

PFAS

No traces of PFAS

PFAS is a group of chemicals often used in industrial products due to their water- and dirt-repellent properties. However, they are harmful to both the environment and health.

PFAS has unfortunately been detected in drinking water in several locations in Sweden, including Ronneby, Uppsala, and Halmstad, where PFAS from old industries and firefighting training areas has spread into the groundwater.

The results from Eurofins’ analysis report of Aqua Nobel’s spring water from 21 August 2024 indicate that the levels of PAH, PFAS, and THM are below the detection limits, suggesting that the drinking water is safe for consumption. This may be due to the depth of the spring and the thick rock layers that protect the spring from contamination.
