Everything begins with water
That is where our story begins. Water is fundamental to all living things. Yet today, it is under increasing pressure. Climate change is already affecting global water supplies, while concerns around chemicals, metals and residues in drinking water continue to grow.
At the same time, more than 500 million tons of plastic are produced each year. If nothing changes, there could be more plastic than fish in our oceans by 2050.
But 105 meters below the surface, another story unfolds.
Beneath mineral-rich layers of sandstone, moraine, slate and gneiss, our water begins its journey. Over decades, it moves slowly through these natural formations before reaching our protected spring in southern Sweden.
This gradual filtration shapes the water’s mineral composition and gives it its naturally alkaline character, with a pH of 8.2.
Everything we do starts here. Alongside our broader environmental efforts, we remain committed to protecting the integrity of the source itself. Working with local hydrologists, we ensure that neither the structure of the spring nor the balance of the water is disturbed.
As water should be
PEOPLE HAVE ENJOYED OUR FANTASTIC
WATER FOR ALMOST 100 YEARS
Our unique water has been enjoyed by local people for many years. There are 100 year old stories of people traveling to the area to collect water for its perceived health benefits.
1964
The first commercial hole was drilled into deeper parts of the spring by a local farmer
2015
Aqua Nobel was formed and purchased the rights to the unique water source.
2015-2018
In the early years, Aqua Nobel produced carbonated water and bottled it in a few different forms, PET, glass bottles and bag-in-box. During these years, the water was awarded several prizes.
2018-2020
In 2018, a decision was made to start moving towards more sustainable solutions, which led to the installation of Tetra Pak's most innovative packaging solution - the Tetra Prisma Dream cap.
In 2018 Aqua Nobel embarked on the process of switching their spring water production from PET to cardboard packaging from Tetra Pak.
2021
Aqua Nobel removes all plastic bottles from warehouse shelves and now exclusively produces water in packaging called Tetra Prisma® Aseptic.
2022
Aqua Nobel introduces a new packaging design. Our goal is packaging made from up to 100% renewable material by 2025, compared to the 76% that applies today.
100% PLANET FRIENDLY PACKAGING 2025
Our goal is to package our water in a carton made of 100% renewable material by 2025. Since 2019, we have gone from 67% renewable materials in our packaging to 76%, and we will not give up until we reach 100%
